Kisumu County Government did a geophysical study and they are mulling a ban on buildings taller than 20 floors due to the volatile grounds around lake victoria basin. Recent earthquakes in Tanzania (5.9 magnitude in 2016) and Uganda (5.7 Magnitude in 2018) has the County officials considering a cap on the height of buildings in Kisumu city.
This is a good thing first to prevent catastrophes like those witnessed in neighbouring countries but also it will encourage the building of a wider CBD which will look stunning.
