The Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) secretary general David Okuta has written to The National Alliance (TNA) to protest his inclusion in the party's nomination list.
TNA had listed Mr Okuta as its candidate for the Nyando parliamentary seat in Kisumu County without his consent.
The list was submitted to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
I have no intentions whatsoever of joining politics and I have never applied for any party ticket at TNA, Mr Okuta said on phone.
I have written to TNA and asked them to drop my name from their list.
TNA secretary general Onyango Oloo admitted that the party had indeed included Mr Okutas name in their final list to IEBC.
Were very sorry about that and are going to ask the IEBC to drop the name from our list, Mr Onyango said.
