Young Africa.

FIFA president Joseph Blatter has sent a congratulatory message to newly crowned premiership champions through the Tanzania Football Federation’s boss Jamal Malinzi yesterday.

The TFF information officer Bakari Kizuguto who also shares domestic soccer fanaticism for Yanga with the federation’s president Malinzi, confirmed to have received the FIFA message.

Blatter, detailed in the message to have requested the TFF president to relay the congratulatory message to Young Africans FC and their fans for securing an opportunity to represent Mainland Tanzania in the Confederation of African Football’s Champions League of the next year edition.

Blatter said in the message according to TFF spokesman that Yanga’s success has been achieved through efficient leadership, commitment by players, technical experts, supporters and everyone who took bold steps in facilitating the title haul
“Football has gained substantial success and popularity beyond borders across the globe, enough to spearhead development, helping to change players of all calibers’ lifestyle and profile while improving their talents, skills”, said Blatter.

Blatter said soccer has to a huge extent eased unemployment for modern youngsters who are beneficiaries of the game both at community and individual levels

Young Africans have sealed the Mainland soccer league title for a record 25 times and it has been a remarkable season or the team that clinched the title ahead of the season closure.

Yanga were supposed to be crowned as Mainland champions when they played a formality premiership return leg match against former champions Azam at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

However, it has been a rare attempt by FIFA president Blatter to send congratulatory message for a club winning premiership title in Tanzania as Azam and Yanga have become beneficiaries of these messages after their success last and this year, respectively.

While Yanga have confirmed their CAF Champions League’s representation next year, Azam were battling for the runners-up spot during yesterday’s match in Dar.

The runners-up finish is in tussle between Simba and Azam who have failed to plot title retention bid having flopped in the last six matches of league fixtures. Both Simba and Azam endured a torrid season with wobbling performance to lose grip on the title chase horribly.

Azam won the 2013/14 Mainland premiership title for the first time since gaining promotion into the top flight berth in 2008/9 season with unique 26-match unbeaten run.
