Chiefs,
I'm not sure these demonstration portrays our true democracy, prove that we have matured in that field or even we are honestly democratic. It just occurred to me that whenever wapinzani want to have a public rally they have to apply for a permit and sometimes they are denied of their rights (right to assemble in peace, freedom of speech, etc). Isn't this hypocricy of our government to have selective portrayal of democracy?
My fellow JF members, let's try to imagine if next week Tanzanians march to regional headquaters to demand resignation of all MPs who are classified as mafisadi together with the Speaker; demand people involved in BoT scandal be brought to Justice, Kiwira returned to the State, etc...who will dare to do so? Would they even get a permit to do so? I don't think so, honestly.
Therefore, these demonstrations had some blessings because they were religious-driven but it does not have anything to do with democracy...this is just my opinion!
