Already there is considerable private sector investments taking place in Lamu particularly the Ras Kitau area where private sector investors are developing resort facilities since the ground breaking undertaken for the LAPSSET Corridor Project on March 2nd 2012.

Lapsset to get additional Sh20b, Ruto says.

The government will release Sh20 billion for the ongoing construction of Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) corridor project at Kililana in Lamu West.

The money would be in addition to Sh15 billion already spent in funding the project, Deputy President William Ruto has said.
