Tanzania is in the process of making a new constitution. The previous constitution did not involve the citizens. For the first time in History citizens of Tanzania started to participate in making their own constitutions.
President Jakaya Kikwete appointed a constitution commission led by most reputable Tanzanians. The constitution committee managed to involve thousands of Tanzanians in giving opinions. The Tanzanians have given opinions on the form of union Government of their preferences.
They have recommended three governments to cater for the minority Zanzibars and also to revive the Tanganyika Government that was not there in the previous unions. Zanzibaris want their identity and sovereignty to recognised. Tanganyikans want their identity to be recognized.
Now the ruling party CCM led by Kikwete are manipulating the Constitutional parliament by using their majority. CCM is determined to KILL all the opinions of Tanzanians citizens of getting their own constitution in order to honor their own party policy of two government system.
Support Tanzanians get their constitution peacefully. Pressurize president Kikwete to honor the peoples choices.
