- The Jubilee Coalition has claimed that the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chief Executive Officer James Oswago is bankrolling CORD campaigns using funds allocated to his commission.
In a statement sent to press rooms on Friday, the Uhuru /Ruto led alliance asked James Oswago to resign following his role in co-opting the IEBC into the CORD alliance and facilitating the funding.
Jubilee also asked IEBC to reverse the allocation of Sh 224 million to a company associated with ODM mole John Kiarie, which the party said was unlawful.
If the IEBC has even a modicum of decency and respect for the Constitution it will immediately reverse this ridiculous contract award, part of the statement reads
However, IEBC said the Sh224 million was part of funds given by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to be used for voter civic education owing to the multiple new elective posts under the new constitution.
When questioned on how the commission arrived at giving a tender to ODMs John Kiarie, arrogant and bully Oswago, said the tendering was duly won by his company Transcend Media through an open process although it was never advertised anywhere.
Credible sources within IEBC said the CEO has been having night meetings with Prime Minister Raila Odinga at exclusive hotels in Nairobi.
Sources also said that the CEO has even gone further in offering campaign vehicles to CORD campaigns.
Can Oswago clarify this to Kenyans before the D-day arrives on March 4[SUP]th[/SUP]?
