A 27-year-old man from Malichi Village in Malava Constituency burned down his two houses before jumping into a well following a domestic row.
According to the man’s father, neighbours rescued his son Lunani Chekeni from drowning in the 30-foot well.
Mr Chekeni was admitted at a Malava hospital.
Chemuche area assistant Chief Musa Vateta has condemned Mr Chekeni’s act, urging residents to solve their domestic differences amicably without resorting to suicide or destruction of property.
