A 20- year-old man has been killed by a mob in Musanzi village, Bugiri District for allegedly stealing a cock valued at Shs20, 000.
Robert Okware, was a resident of Kayangu Ba village in Kapiango Sub-county.
Bugiri District Police Commander, Mr Idris Kyeyune said the suspect is believed to have stolen the chicken from the home of Mr Desterio Okecho of Busanzi village at night.
However, he was trailed by residents who arrested and beat him to death.
Mr Kyeyune condemned the act saying mob action is illegal.
He said the people who were involved in the lynching of the suspect are being would be arrested.
