Hundreds of commuters were on Wednesday left stranded, after public service vehicle operators in Nairobi’s Eastlands area downed their tools.
Passengers in Kayole, Eastleigh and Dandora were the worst affected, with commuters being forced to walk to work.
The matatu operators have cited constant harrassment and extortion by police as well as the lack of designated parking areas as reason for their strike.
The operators have threatened to go on with the strike until their issues are addressed.
