Applications for Admissioninto Higher Education Institutions through the Central Admission System (CAS)for academic year 2013/2014
TanzaniaCommission for Universities (TCU) in collaboration with National Council forTechnical Education (NACTE) hereby inform all prospective applicants that, theCentral Admission System is now open for all applicants who wishto apply for admission into higher education institutions for the 2013/2014academic year. The applicationthrough CAS will involve: a) Form Six applicants who completed form four from the year 1988 onwards;b) Applicants with Diploma in teacher education who completed in 1988to 2013;c) Applicants with Full Technician Certificates (FTC) who completedin 1988 to 2013;d) Applicants who completed their Ordinary Diploma in technicaleducation (NTA Level 6) in 1988 to 2013; e) All applicants with other diplomas (non-NTA level 6) from Tanzanian institutions recognized byTCU/NACTE;f) All applicants with diplomas from outside Tanzania which have beenrecognized by TCU/NACTE.g) Applicants with foreign certificates who completed their advancedlevel certificates between 1988 and 2013. 1.0 Minimum entry qualifications for Admission into Higher EducationInstitutions (HEIs). The minimumentry requirements set by TCU and NACTE to join HEIs are as follows:a) For F.6applicants the minimum entry qualification is two principal passes in A-Levelwith a total of 2.0 points and three credits at ‘O’ Level.b) For the Diploma applicants the minimum entry qualification is at leastFour O level passes (D’s and above) or NVA level III with less than four Olevel passes or equivalent foreign qualifications as established by eitherNECTA or VETA;

AND

(i) Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) with at least GPA of 2.7; or
(ii) Full Technician Certificate (FTC) with at least points average of 2.7(where A=5, B=4,C=3 and D=2 points); or
(iii) Diploma in Teacher Education with an average of ‘C’ grade; or
(iv) Health related awards such as Clinical Medicine and others with average of‘B’ grade; or
(v) Credit class diploma for classified diplomas and certificates in terms of‘distinctions, credit or pass’ or
(vi) Lower Second Class diploma for classified non-NTA diplomas;
or
(vii) Average of ‘B’ grade or lower second class in recognized pre-entryprogramme offered by technical institutions accredited by NACTE for both Alevel and Diploma holders with lower than minimum entry requirements.

2.0 How to applyi) All applicantswill apply through the Central Admissions System which is available on TCU and NACTE websites: www.tcu.go.tz and www.nacte.go.tz. ii) Applicants willbe required to choose 3-5 programme choices with maximum of two programmechoices from one institution basing on programme requirements given in the‘Admissions Guidebook for Higher Education Institutions’ available on TCU and NACTE websites. iii) All applicantsare advised to follow the stages for registration and application carefully toavoid any inconveniences. 3.0 Mode of payment Category A: The paymentsfor the following applicants will be done through NBC bank:i) Form sixapplicants, ii) Applicants withForeignO-level and/or A-level certificates, Application fee forcategory A · Tanzanians willbe required to pay a non-refundable application fee of TSHS.50,000/- payablethrough NBC branches country wide,· Non-Tanzanianswill be required to pay US$60 through CAS Account at any NBC bank countrywide(TCU-CAS Acc. No.074139000021), and· Non-Tanzaniansresiding outside Tanzania will be required to pay US$60 through CAS accountnumber (TCU-CAS Acc.No.074139000021). The swift code: NLCBTZTX. Category B: will involvethe following:- i) Applicants withNTA level 6 qualifications,ii) Applicants withDiploma in Teacher Education,iii) Applicants withFTC qualifications,iv) Applicants withother diploma qualifications. This category will be required to pay an applicationfee through M-Pesa by following the steps below:-

Application fee forcategory BAllApplicants who possess proof of payment of either NACTE Examination Fees orNACTE Quality Assurance Fees for three years of study will apply PRO BONO(without payment). All other applicants will be required to pay application feethrough M-PESA as stipulated below:

1. Those who paid NACTE Quality Assurance fee of Tshs 15,000 per year duringtheir studies, will pay the remaining balance to make a total of Tshs.50,000/=, implying that
those who paid for two years will have to pay Tshs. 20,000/=, and those whopaid only one year will have to pay Tshs 35,000/= only.

2. All other applicants who do not possess the proof of payment for NACTEQuality Assurance fees SHALL be required to pay full amount of Tshs 50,000/=.
NOTE:1. Applicants are advised to read carefully theadmission requirements of each programme they anticipate to apply in theguidebook before finalizing application process in order to avoid problems thatmay arise due to failure to follow appropriate instructions.2. Holders of AdvancedCertificate of Secondary Examination who do not have at least two ‘E’ in theirA level results and at least three credits (three ‘C’) in form four results,and Diploma holders who do not have at least a GPA of 2.7 or average of B orCredit they are advised not to apply or pay application fee as they do not meetthe minimum requirements to be enrolled in any degree programme offered byhigher learning institutions. 3. Applicants withforeign certificates will be required to submit their certificates to NationalExamination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for equivalence. Before lodgingapplications, applicants with foreign certificates are required to submit toTCU the following documents for verification purpose:i) Certified copy (copies)of equivalence letter obtained from NECTA; ii)Certifiedcopy(copies)of secondary school certificate obtained outside Tanzania ordifferent from NECTA education system; iii) A copy of local secondary education certificateobtained from Tanzania.4. Applicants areadvised to keep in safe place their cards and confirmation number for M-PESApayment for future reference and payment verification.5. Applicants areadvised to use the revised edition of the Admissions’ Guidebook which isavailable on TCU and NACTE websites: www.tcu.go.tz and www.nacte.go.tz. 4.0 Deadline for applicationThe deadlinefor applications for applicants who completed from 1988 to 2012 will be 30[SUP]th[/SUP]April 2013 and the deadline for applicants who had completed their studies in2013 will be on 31[SUP]st[/SUP] May 2013.

Mkuu hata mimi nimeshangaa sana kwa viwango vilivyoonyeshwa hapo,hapo nyuma mimi niiingia kwa point kuanzia 4.5 and kuendelea.
