And they know, if this guy will be in power, watakuwa hawana chao.

hahaha....hawa wamarekani ni wapuuzi sana...yaani wanataka kumuingiza madarakani odinga kwa gharama zozote...this is absurd indeed...halafu hizi kauli ndo zinaweza kuaccelerate ghasia...

In short kama ulifuatilia Al Jazeera JANA ilipowahoji wafuasi wa makundi mawili makubwa kila kundi (Pro- Jubilee Alliance & Pro- CORD) lilisema kama the supreme court itaamua "vizuri" watakubaliana na matokeo, sasa kama kila kundi msimamo wake ni huo ina maana kama kundi husika (JUBILEE OR CORD) litashinda the opposite will go to street and vice versa!! In that regard lazima wamarekani wawaonye raia wao maana Intelijensia yao na serikali yao wako makini kuwalinda raia wao!

Britain issues travel warning to its citizens

By Cyrus Ombati

Nairobi, Kenya: Britain has joined US in issuing travel warning to its citizens over the ongoing presidential petitions whose ruling is set to be delivered on Saturday, March 30.

While issuing the advisory, Britain cautioned its citizens to avoid parts of Nairobi, North Eastern and Coast.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advised against all, but essential travel to within 60 kilometers of the Kenya-Somali border, Kiwayu and coastal areas north of Pate Island, Garissa, Eastleigh area of Nairobi and to low income areas of Nairobi, including all townships or slum areas.

The statement said tensions may remain high in the lead up to the ruling of the presidential election petition.

"Follow developments in the media, be vigilant at all times and avoid all demonstrations or large gatherings," read part of the advisory.

It advised its citizens to take extra care in the area and be vigilant, particularly in public places.

The statement showed 203,290 British nationals visited Kenya in 2011 and most visits are trouble-free.

"There is a high threat from terrorism, including kidnapping. There has been a spate of attacks in Nairobi (especially the area of Eastleigh), Mombasa, and North Eastern Province. Further attacks are likely."

The statement added there are incidents of crime including mugging, armed robbery and carjacking, particularly in the large cities.

"Take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance before you travel."
The US embassy in Nairobi issued a travel advisory against its citizens during the Easter weekend over the pending ruling on presidential election petitions filed against Uhuru Kenyatta.

The embassy issued an advisory warning its citizens against participating in gatherings and demonstrations.

"The U.S. Embassy strongly urges all U.S. citizens to avoid gatherings, demonstrations, downtown business areas, slums, and large crowds of any kind," read part of the advisory.

The warning adds the even gatherings intended to be peaceful can turn violent with little or no warning.

"Demonstrations could also lead to traffic congestion and possible road closures. U.S Citizens are advised to be cautious and monitor local media for the latest information on demonstrations and traffic disruptions, particularly those who plan to spend the holiday away from home."

The warning was issued in connection with the pending ruling on the petitions filed at the Supreme Court to challenge the declaration by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission that Kenyatta worn the March 4 polls.

Sources told The Standard several other western embassies in Nairobi have issued such an advisory to their citizens calling for extra caution ahead and after the ruling.

There are three petitions filed against Kenyatta, one by Prime Minister Raila Odinga who is seeking several declarations among them those that could, if granted, force fresh presidential elections through invalidation of the poll.

Tourism Industry reacts to US advisory

By Philip Mwakio

The Coast Tourism Industry fraternity has reacted angrily to the latest US travel advisory warning its citizens of possible danger and violence over the outcome of the presidential election petition going on at the Supreme Court.

Speaking in Mombasa yesterday under the aegis of the giant Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (Kahc) Coast branch termed the US Government's latest move as reckless, irresponsible and very insensitive to Kenyans.

"The US has always been expecting negative outcomes of the Kenyan situation . We want to tell the Obama-led administration that elections were well and peacefully conducted . We shall come out victorious as one nation irrespective of the outcome of the election petition expected by Saturday,'' Kahc Coast Branch Executive Officer, Sam Ikwaye said. In its latest advisory, the US administration tells its citizens to avoid gatherings and demonstrations as the ruling of the petition is likely to be issued on Easter weekend.

"The decision may be announced during the Easter holiday weekend, at a time when many people go out of town. There could be a strong public reaction to the announcement, therefore the US Embassy strongly urges all its citizens to avoid gatherings, demonstrations, downtown business areas, slums and large crowds,'' the advisory states. Ikwaye said the tourism industry is coming to a low season and hoteliers only expect to reap over the Easter festive season.

"We urge for peace and prosperity. Elections come and go and so will be the petition,'' he added. Ikwaye said that it is foolhardy for the US to scorn at Kenya yet they were part of a team of broad international election observers who gave the whole exercise a thumbs up and in particular congratulated the people of Kenya for upholding peace during the election period.

Transition period

"Kenya is undergoing a transition period .Let the US Government give us a big break and stop behaving like they are the world police. We shall only be comfortable with partners who understand our predicaments and problems by and large,'' Ikwaye appealed to the travelling world to consider coming to Kenya for holiday and sample what magical Kenya has to offer.

Jacaranda Indian Ocean Beach Club and Resort General Manager Gomeri Kombo told off the US with their travel warnings. "Kenya is a sovereign State governed by its own set of rules. We shall never be cowered into submission by people pretending to be with us but take advantage of situations that prevail to deny us space to thrive,'' Mr Kombo said.
