Maseno University student killed in unclear circumstances

Mwanafunzi wa Chuo Kikuu cha Moseno ameuawa na mtu ambaye hakufahamika baada ya kutofautiana katika eneo la Mabungo.

Katika hali ya kutaka kulipa kisasi kundi la wanafunzi wa chuo hicho waliamua kumsaka muuaji lakini waliishia kuichoma moto nyumba yake.

Maseno University student was on Monday killed by an unidentified person following a disagreement in Mabungo area in Maseno.

In retaliation, the university students cornered the alleged killer and lynched him before setting his house on fire.

Confirming the incident, Maseno West Police Boss Wilson Mwakio said they are investigating the cause of the conflict between the two, adding that the bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Mortuary.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the police boss said the man who killed the student might have been a drug peddler.

The death of the third year student identified as Peter Njoroge irked Maseno University students who took to the streets demonstrating what they termed as a rise in insecurity in the region.

The students blocked the Kisumu–Busia Road.
