Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Left Tanzania Presidency in 1985. At that time, Tz economy was bigger, more advanced and growing at a higher rate than kenya. Not only was Nyerere's Economy booming, He left a united cohesive nation.Nyerere messed up you people, his intentions were good, he was patriotic and wanted the best for his people but unilateral decisions damaged your way of life, subjected you into misery, unable to reason and think, made you dependent, lazy and generated perennial suspicion and fear of Kenyans and anyone deemed to be a hard-worker even among yourselves.
He is the reason why your country is so poor, despite the fact that it's a combination of two countries each with potential to be great economically. Take for instance, Mauritius is just an island almost the same size of Zanzibar with nothing other than nice beaches, but they beat you people in everything including PPP.

Prior to this decision, tanzanite was sold in Arusha and Nairobi.

Again you balame Nyerere for being the reason why we hate on you Kenyans (as you claim). You forget the fact that it's you guys who hate on us, and don't want to hear anything good happening to us. And This is the spirit you inherited from Kenyatta.
It was Kenyata who ensured that kikuyu becomes the most dominant tribe in Kenya. He taught you how to hate on your fellow Kenyans, luos, kamba and the rest. And so you did with no hesitations, and I bet you will hate on each other to the very end.
Now think about it, is it possible that a person who hates on his fellow country mate to love individuals from a neighboring state? Obviously that can't happen. That's why you kenyans hate us so much and don't want to hear anything good abt us. You go on to the heights of calling us a lot of unpleasant names just to satisfy your souls. On the contrary We Tanzanians love each other, and we have a million reasons not to hate you as you do.
However you are right by saying that our country has a lot of resources needed not to be an LDC. But let me tell you, we have realized our mistakes and we are moving forward. So if anybody gets in our way, we won't spare them.
