NAIROBI, Two cabinet Secretaries are among dozens of Kenyans who were rushed to a Nairobi hospital after exhibiting Cholera symptoms.

Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and his Trade counterpart Adan Mohammed were checked into the Nairobi Hospital for medical examination after attending the Kenya Trade Week forum at the KICC.

Unconfirmed reports also indicate several workers from the Jacaranda Hotel in Westlands have been admitted to hospital after displaying similar symptoms.

The incident comes barely a month after a team of medical experts who were in Nairobi for a health conference were admitted to a city hospital after having a meal at the Weston hotel in Lang’ata.

The Ministry of Health however denied the claims that anyone had contracted the disease, with the Cabinet Secretary for Health Cleopa Mailu saying tests indicated that many of the guests suffered from food poisoning.

Dr Jackson Kioko , Director of Medical Services, said contrary to the claims, 24 rapid diagnostic tests had returned negative results for cholera.

Kenya has been experiencing waves of the Cholera outbreak.
