Mchungaji mmoja wa kanisa la Akorino, kwa jina Gichina, kutoka Ndiaa kaunti ya Kirinyaga nchini Kenya amehukumiwa kifungo cha miaka 140, baada ya kukiri kuwabaka binti zake wawili na kila mmoja akashika mimba.
Akitoa hukumu hiyo Hakimu Anthony Mwicigi amesema hukumu dhidi ya mshukiwa imeambatana na kukiri kwake mwenyewe kwamba alitekeleza maovu hayo.
Kwa kila kosa Mchungaji (umri 51) amefungwa miaka 70 ambayo sasa itakuwa ni miaka 140 kwa kuwa aliwabaka watoto wawili.
Watoto wote wawili walibakwa tarehe 30 June 2019 na Agosti 2019 mtawalia. Binti wa kwanza ana ujauzito wa miezi 7 na mwenzake ana miezi 5.
Kabla ya kuondoka kizimbani Gichina amesema ni shetani aliyempelekea kufanya vitendo hivyo na kuomba msamaha kwa watoto wake.

A 45-year-old man has been sentenced to 140 years in prison by a Baricho Court after he pleaded guilty to defiling his two daughters in Ndia, Kirinyaga County.
John Gichira was brought before Principal Magistrate Antony Mwicigi who sentenced him to 70 years in prison for two counts of incest each.
The accused was charged that in June 2019 on diverse dates, he defiled and impregnated his 16-year-old daughter who later gave birth to a girl who is now seven-months-old.
The court was told that the matter was not reported and the suspect continued to live in the same compound with the girl.
He was also charged that on August 2020 on diverse dates, he defiled and impregnated his 14-year-old daughter who is now expecting a child.
The matter was reported to Baricho Police Station by the area chief, prompting the suspect to escape till when he was traced and arrested in Mbeere South, Embu County.
Asked whether he was aware that the charges he was pleading guilty to attract a life sentence, the suspect answered in the affirmative.
The prosecution tabled as evidence the medical records for the two minors obtained from Sagana Sub-county hospital where they were examined.

On mitigation, the suspect told the court that he was aware that he committed a crime and asked for forgiveness from both victims and the court, saying that everybody makes mistakes.
