Controversial pastor Paul Mackenzie was on Tuesday freed by the Malindi court and then rearrested to face fresh charges in Shanzu High Court.

Principal Magistrate Ivy Wasike released Mackenzie and his six co-accused even as the prosecution sought 90 more days to complete investigations

The prosecution has closed the miscellaneous application and the accused is to be taken to Shanzu law courts to face charges under the Terrorism Act.

Immediately after being freed by Malindi Court, the seven were rearrested for fresh charges.

He is set to face terrorism charges at Shanzu High Court in Kilifi County
