I will be finishing a short course on becoming a Medical Interpreter. From English-Swahili. i have to realize that not many swahili words have direct translation, and in most cases you have to interpret every word as it is in order to convey the message of the speaker correctly. Below is a conversation between a doctor and patient, can someone please translate it for me as it is ? Nashukuru sana.
Dr. Good morning, my name is Dr. Jay. So i see you hurt your ankle. Can you tell me what happened?
Pt. Well, i was playing with my friend and we were playing basketball and jumping up and down. I came down on a rock and twisted my ankle. It swelled up right away and it hurts to walk on.Am i going to be in a cast? I'm the pitcher and we are going to the playoffs in two weeks.I've got to be there.
Dr. Well, why dont we take a look at it. It doesn't look broken, but i'm going to send you to X-ray and we'll take it from there.
Nawatakia nyote weekend njema.
