Michelle Obama's birthday invitations have reportedly instructed guests that there will be no meal provided
Michelle Obama has asked guests at her 50th birthday party to eat before they arrive according to reports.
A save the date e-mail reportedly advised guests to dine before attenting the 'Snacks & Sips & Dancing & Dessert' party
According to the Chicago Tribune, sources said that guests have also been told to wear comfortable shoes and practice their dance moves.
The First Lady will celebrate her birthday on January 17 and will likely hold her party a day later.
She is currently enjoying an extended winter break in Hawaii while her husband and daughters returned to Washington.
As part of what the White House called part of a "birthday gift from the president" she is opting to continue her holiday with friends.
Last month Mrs Obama hinted about her birthday plans on a visit to a children's hospital, saying it "might involve some dancing".
She also said that there may be "A little Dougie" in reference to the hip-hop dance she performed on comedy show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" last year.
