Sevilla duo Diego Perotti and Frederic Kanoute are doubtful for the weekend trip to face Real Madrid after sustaining injuries during the 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday evening.

Los Nervionenses got the point they needed to progress to the knockout stages at the Germans' expense, but their exertions appear to have come at a cost.

Kanoute, who headed the Andalucians 2-1 in front just before the interval, had to be replaced minutes later, and he is regarded as extremely unlikely to be available for the match in the capital.

Argentine Perotti meanwhile suffered from a tight hamstring in the second half, and had to be replaced by defender Martin Caceres on the hour mark.

While Kanoute may still have a chance of competing against Los Blancos, the young winger however has been ruled out until after the winter break.

Carlo Ancelotti will wave arrivederci to Chelsea and join Roma in June as he prepares to clear his desk at Stamford Bridge early, according to a report from Italy.

Impero Romanista claims Ancelotti may arrive in June to replace Claudio Ranieri. The current Roma boss has not renewed his deal in the capital.

Varying results, coupled with the uncertainty over the club's future, have put any talk of an extension into the background.

Ancelotti meanwhile has seen his relationship with Chelsea thrown into doubt.

The Blues boss seems to have lost his grip on the way of life in the Premier League, and he has made a pact with Roma director Bruno Conti to join them under the instruction of current president Rosella Sensi.

Ancelotti's Roma ties make him a favourite among fans and chiefs at the club, especially if Ranieri fail to deliver meaningful results this season.

Despite the exit claims, Ancelotti said Blues owner Roman Abramovich ensured his job was secure.

Chelsea midfielder, Frank Lampard, revealed that he did not want to claim glory for a Chelsea win, when he made a surprise return for the Blues against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, and had a chance to take the injury time penalty.
Frank Lampard is the Blues' regular penalty taker but on Sunday it was striker Didier Drogba, who stepped up to take the kick from the penalty spot and then missed it. Lampard stepped aside to let Drogba take the spot kick because he did not want to take credit for the win.
Drogba's penalty, if it had hit the back of the net, would have given Chelsea a win after a particularly bad few weeks. However, it was Lampard's first match after his return from injury, after three months and the England international chose to let Drogba take it.
The return against Spurs was a surprise, before the match Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti had claimed that Lampard was not match fit and would most probably not make an appearance. Lampard started on the bench but was brought on towards the end of second half, to help make a difference.
However, Lampard seems to have returned to full fitness and is set to start against Manchester United this Sunday. The Blues will welcome United at Stamford Bridge this weekend in a very important clash, which will determine if they are still title contenders.
So far Lampard has had a terrible season, being injured for the better part of it. Having returned, he was hopeful it was more permanent. He said, "It's a difficult one, but it looked like I would not be playing two days earlier. Then I played after only training for two days with the lads, in three months. I haven't practiced a penalty in all that time and I always like to practice them. I thought it would have been wrong for me to come on and try to take personal glory on my return, rather than let Didi take it, because he has been practicing".
He added, "So I gave it to Didi. I could easily say I would have buried it, but that is not always the case. We can all miss them – and credit to Didi for stepping up. Hopefully now I can practice some in the week and get back to taking them".

Everton to spend Pienaar fee on Miller

Everton Football Club are lining up an offer for Kenny Miller.

David Moyes admits he is keen to sign a striker when the transfer window reopens, and he is prepared to sell Steven Pienaar to raise the cash.

The South African international is out of contract in the summer, but Tottenham Hotspur are known to be willing to pay for the midfielder in January.

It is believed Moyes would then make a move for Miller, who is in a similar contract situation at Rangers, for a fee in the region of £2million.

The 30-year-old has been in sensational form for the Scottish giants this season, having found the back of the net 19 times in 14 league appearances.

The former Arsenal star has struggled for regular first team football at Manchester City this season, having started just two Premier League games thus far.

Roberto Mancini is in the market for a new striker in January, and if he lands a target, he would likely be willing to let the Togo international leave.

According to The Metro, this is of great interest to Roy Hodgson, who hopes to lure Adebayor to Anfield on loan for the rest of the campaign.

However, much may depend on whether the Blues lose Carlos Tevez, who has submitted a written transfer request to quit Eastlands in the New Year.

Spaniards close on Manchester City flop

Levante are closing on a permanent deal for Felipe Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian striker is currently on loan at the Spanish club, after he failed to settle in England following his arrival at Eastlands during the Sven Goran Eriksson era.

It is already thought that an agreement in the region of £850,000 has been agreed between the two clubs to make the deal for the 22-year-old permanent.

The La Liga side now want to rubberstamp this deal amidst reports that Caicedo is attracting interest from German club Werder Bremen.

It is being claimed that Levante want to tie up the powerful forward before selling him on for what they hope will be a handsome profit, at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have reportedly enquired about Jose Antonio Reyes.

The 27-year-old was under contract at Arsenal from 2004-2007, although he failed to settle in England and spent the final season of this deal on loan at Real Madrid.

Reyes then made a permanent switch to Atletico Madrid, and despite spending a season in Portugal with Benfica in 2008-2009, he remains under contract until 2014.

According to IMScouting, Harry Redknapp has added the Spaniard on his list of potential signings, as he looks to win a first title at White Hart Lane since 1961.

Reyes, who scored 16 goals in 69 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, can operate on the wing or as a striker, and is rated in the region of £10million.

New Magpies boss Alan Pardew is well aware of the capabilities of the Portuguese defender, who he signed for Southampton last January.

According to The Sun he now wants to sign the 26-year-old for a second successive winter, and is prepared to pay his former club £1.5million to do just that.

Font, who is set to double his wage if the move goes through, has made sixteen appearances in League One this season, and has chipped in with four goals.

Carlos Tevez will give his all if selected for Manchester City, claims his advisor.

The Argentine international threw a huge spanner in the Blues bid for the Premier League title at the weekend, when he handed in a transfer request.

Fans are still confused as to why their star player has taken such action, but the club have made it clear they have no plans to sell the striker.

It has been suggested that Tevez is ready to go on strike to seal a transfer away from Eastlands, but his advisor insists this is absolute nonsense.

"I want to be clear that Carlos has never said he is not going to play or train or be professional. So those rumours are rubbish," Kia Joorabchian told the Telegraph.

"He will play if picked and 100 per cent do his best. He feels that is important every time he puts on the shirt. He always gives 100 per cent.

Uganda Cranes have been handed a quick window to avenge their Cecafa semi-final defeat to Tanzania after the two neighbours were paired together in the preliminary round of the Zone V 2011 All Africa Games qualifiers. The Kilimanjaro Stars eliminated the Cranes 5-4 on penalties last week.
"It's a tournament reserved for the U23 group so the technical committee will sit and lay plans to have good representation," Uganda Football Federation technical director, Asuman Lubowa, told the Monitor.
According to the fixtures posted at Cafonline.com, Kenya will face Eritrea in the first match of the qualifiers that will kick–off next month until July.
The Maputo 2011 All Africa Games fixtures were released following the draw held on Monday in Cairo, Egypt.
The qualifying series begins in January 2011 till July 2011, to determine the eight teams for both Men's and Women's competitions. The 10th All Africa Games will be held from 3-18 September, 2011.
For the Men's, one team each will qualify from the seven zones to join hosts Mozambique for the final tournament.
Zone I: Algeria, Libya.
Zone II: Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali and Senegal.
Zone III: Benin, Ghana, Liberia and Nigeria.
Zone IV: Cameroon, Congo RD and Gabon.
Zone V: Eritrea, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Zone VI: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe
