  philly, I think berbs is set to play in 2nd leg against schalke. Even I'd be more than surprised if he's fit and doesn't start that game.

Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool's unbeaten home record since he took over in January gives an indication of what his squad is capable of.
Since replacing Roy Hodgson, Dalglish has gone nine matches unbeaten at Anfield in all competitions.

The Scot's record in the Premier League is even more impressive, with 17 points taken from a possible 21.
In contrast, away from home it is 10 points from seven matches, with defeats coming at Blackpool, West Ham and West Brom - all teams in the bottom third of the table.
And 10 of their 12 defeats all season have come away from Anfield.
The Reds host Newcastle on Sunday looking for a fourth successive home win, which would make it 17 league games in a row in which they have scored.
Although Liverpool's success in the past was built upon a formidable home record, Dalglish knows they have to address their form on the road to challenge for the top four or better next season.
"You cannot have great home form and terrible away form. You need to marry the two together," he said.
"We've had a lot of positive results at Anfield and that's a step in the right direction. We know that if we can do it at home then we can do it away too.
"The away form is something everyone would like to improve upon and if we do there will be a better chance of being successful."
It could be Liverpool's home form, however, which allows them to sneak into Europe again.
They are three points behind fifth-placed Tottenham, who have a game in hand, but host Spurs on the penultimate weekend of the season.
But Dalglish refuses to even acknowledge there is a real prospect of getting back into the Europa League again.
"We will play every game as it comes and see how many points we get," he said. "The more points we get the better chance we have of finishing higher up the table.
"That is our ambition, to get three points against Newcastle on Sunday, and let's see where it takes us."
Asked whether he could allow himself a longer-term view, the 60-year-old added: "Three days is long enough to focus. When you get to my age more than three days is a problem!"

  No they have to be more than just his system players. They have to be more than middling players who fit in the system. They have to be world class quality and then fit them in the system. As a matter of fact, players should determine the system, using their strengths and allowing them to do what they do best, not stiffling ther growth playing them outside of their natural abilities. Case in point: Walcott. If you think he's going to end up at striker- which you Mr. Wenger have stated that's where you think he'll end up, why doesn't he start up front and put RVP in his natural wing position?

Mancini: Let me make City massive

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is determined to build a lasting legacy at Eastlands having already done 'the hard work'.
In his first full season in charge the Italian has success in his sights on two fronts.

City are on course for a place in the Champions League for the first time and aim to step up their bid against struggling West Ham on Sunday.
They also face Stoke in the FA Cup final at Wembley on May 14 with a chance to end a 35-year wait for a major trophy.
However, if City fail to reach any of those targets the ambitious owners may feel compelled to act and bring in a new man.
Mancini would be devastated if that happened and said: "After all the hard work during the first year and a half to build the basics I would be very disappointed to leave and for someone else to take it on."
Meanwhile Mancini has asked City fans to respect their Manchester United counterparts and not sing songs about the Munich air crash.
The 1-0 win at Blackburn on Monday was marred by chants about the 1958 tragedy which claimed the lives of 23 people.
Mancini: "I did not hear this. I do not know this situation but we should have respect for what happened many years ago. The rivalry is good on the pitch, only on the pitch."

Moyes bemused by Villa rumors

Everton boss David Moyes is bemused by reports linking him with Aston Villa, saying: "I am at a great club and have got a great job."
Moyes' future has been the subject of recurring speculation this season but the Scot has continually insisted he is happy at Goodison Park.
That was again the case when asked on Friday about the Villa rumours, which have arisen due to the ill health of current manager Gerard Houllier.
"It is nothing to do with me," said 48-year-old Moyes, who has been in charge at Goodison Park for nine years.

Everton, who face Wigan on Saturday, are seventh in the table after finding form over the past two months.
The Toffees were unbeaten in seven games prior to last week's loss at Manchester United and their strong run is bringing a generally disappointing campaign to a positive conclusion.
Everton, restricted by a small squad and limited funds for transfers, spent most of the first half of the season in the bottom half.
Moyes said: "This is probably the position where most people would have put us. Most people would have said we'd be between fifth and eighth. I'm disappointed because I felt we could have gone one better than that.
"But there is still enough to play for, we have tried to emphasise to the players it is important we stay near the top.
"That is where we want to be and I have not seen any signs from the players to suggest they think any different."
Everton end the season with home games against Manchester City and Chelsea, either side of a match at West Brom.
First they must tackle Wigan, who are anxious for points at the bottom end of the table.
Moyes said: "They are always pretty tough games against Wigan. Roberto (Martinez) always gets his team playing in a good footballing style, but I am sure at the moment winning is the key.
"We had a spell six or eight weeks ago when I felt we had to make sure we won.
"Luckily we did and when you get those wins it brings a bit of confidence back to the team and the squad and hopefully your performances can improve.
"Just over a week ago Wigan came out of the bottom three for the first time in a long while and they will know they are not far away from that."
Everton playmaker Mikel Arteta could return after five games out with a hamstring injury having trained this week.
Midfielder Tim Cahill is likely to be involved but again only as a substitute as he continues his recovery from a foot injury.
The Australian came off the bench at Old Trafford after sitting out six out of the previous seven games.
The 31-year-old has endured a gruelling schedule having played in the World Cup and Asian Cup in the past year.
Moyes said: "It is concerning because it is one of these things that may go tomorrow or it might still be there in three months' time.
"It is something that tends to just burn itself out and get better in time."
The Toffees side will feature two players with Wigan links in in-form duo Leighton Baines and Leon Osman.
England left-back Baines came through the ranks at Athletic before moving on to Goodison while dynamic midfielder Osman was born and has family in the area.
Moyes said: "Leighton Baines has improved no end from when we took him.
"He was a good player at Wigan and that is what got us looking at him and signing him.
"It took him a while to settle but he has grown into it and got better.
"Now I think most people think if there was a World Cup this year, Leighton Baines would be a certainty to go.
"Ossie has played really well and nearly carried us, certainly in the creativity department.
"He has got a couple of important goals for us and probably relished that, with Mikel, Tim and Felli [Marouane Fellaini] being out of the team and the loss of Steven Pienaar.
"A lot of the focus has gone onto Ossie and to be fair to him he has taken the mantle and done it really well."

Coyle calls for a final flourish

Bolton manager Owen Coyle insists mental fatigue cannot be allowed to derail their season in the final few weeks of the campaign.
Having had their FA Cup dreams shattered with the 5-0 semi-final defeat by Stoke, the team picked themselves up to beat Arsenal last weekend but then lost disappointingly at Fulham in midweek.
That defeat ended any outside chance Wanderers had of sneaking into European qualification, and Coyle is keen not to allow months of hard work go to waste in the final few matches.

"There is no doubt, given how hard the players have worked since pre-season, that physical and mental fatigue play a part," he said.
"It absolutely comes in but you have to be strong and give everything you can and recognise there are four games to go, and we have to make sure whoever is asked to play gives everything they can.
"The margins are so fine and when you have that lack of concentration for any given moment you can be punished - it happened the other night at Fulham - so we have to make sure we address that.
"We have to make sure the group we have fit and available give everything they can to win the next game.
"We don't want the season to peter away in the last few weeks after giving everything we have this season.
"We are sitting eighth in the league, having had a great season, and we want to finish it strongly."
Bolton travel to near-neighbours Blackburn on Saturday - a ground where they have not won since October 2006.
Wanderers' away record this season is woeful, having won only twice on the road in the league and not since November.
But Coyle dismissed those statistics.
"It is not rocket science that everyone wants to play at home in front of their home fans at a capacity stadium.
"If you look at the league there is not one team with a glittering away record - Manchester United do not have a fantastic away record.
"Arsenal had the best away record in the league and look what happened to them last Sunday," he added.
"If we had an away record to match our home record we would be winning the Premier League - and this is Bolton we are talking about.
"It is fine to band about statistics but when you look deeper, whether home or away, Bolton go to win every game and have produced big performances all season long and that is why we sit eighth."
While Bolton are in the comfort zone, Blackburn are fighting for their Premier League survival just a point above the bottom three.
Manager Steve Kean has had a baptism of fire since replacing Sam Allardyce in December, a situation which mirrored that of Coyle's when he took over at the Reebok in January 2010 with the side threatened by relegation.
He produced a quick turnaround in results which led the club to safety with some ease - from where they have progressed - and he believes his Rovers counterpart can do the same.
"What I think Steve has to do, not that he will be interested in my opinion, is they have to get themselves safe to the summer and then he can put his own stamp on it," he added.
"It is very similar to us last season; when we came in halfway through and first and foremost we had to ensure Bolton retained their Premier League status and we did that in some comfort.
"It takes time for things to come into place."

Gabbidon charged over tweet

West Ham defender Danny Gabbidon has become the latest player in England to be charged by The Football Association over comments made on Twitter.
After relegation-threatened West Ham's loss to Aston Villa earlier this month, Gabbidon used an expletive on Twitter in response to criticism.
Gabbidon added: ''U will never get another tweet from me again u just don't get it do you. Bye bye.''
The FA charged Gabbidon on Thursday with ''improper Conduct and/or bringing the game into disrepute'' over his tweet on April 16.
On April 14, the FA charged Gabbidon's teammate, Carlton Cole, over jokes he made about Ghanian immigrants on the social networking site that led to a 20,000 pound ($32,800) fine.

  I think the FA are right to try to stop the escalation of bad language and tweets. I could see it really getting out of hand if they don't take a strong stand now.

Madrid's Ronaldo to miss Zaragoza match

Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of Real Madrid's squad for its Spanish league game versus Zaragoza on Saturday.
Madrid coach Jose Mourinho said Friday that he decided to rest Ronaldo, who will join Xabi Alonso, Lass Diarra and Raul Albiol in the stands at Santiago Bernabeu stadium as Madrid tries to keep the pressure on league leader Barcelona.
Madrid's top scorer will have extra time to recover for Tuesday's return leg of the Champions League semifinal against Barcelona, which holds a 2-0 first-leg lead.
Barcelona, which has an eight-point lead over Madrid in La Liga, visits Real Sociedad.

  Mourinho did state prior to the start of the season that he usually does his best at clubs in his 2nd year, so we'll see what happens.
  
  He managed to win the Copa Del Ray, take Madrid past the quarters of the CL and into the semis after 7 years so i wouldn't call his tenure a failure. Then again, Madrid's directors aren't exactly known for their patience.

The fall-out from an ill-tempered contest has lingered on with UEFA announcing on Thursday that both clubs will face disciplinary hearings.
Madrid were hit with five charges, the most notable of which relates to Mourinho's "inappropriate statement" in the post-match press conference.
The tit-for-tat between the clubs has continued on still with both subsequently reporting the other to UEFA ahead of next week's return leg at the Nou Camp.
It has served to overshadow Madrid's return to the Primera Liga, where they trail Barca by eight points, and Lafita believes his team can use that to secure a result and build on their single-point lead above the drop zone.
"This is the best time to catch them in the middle of a Champions League semi-final," he said. "But having said that it will still be difficult to get a result, there is no room for error.
"Madrid have quality across their whole squad so you have to do things well if you want to even scratch them.
"We saw last weekend when they did not field their full-strength team at the Mestalla, they still won 6-3."
Madrid are likely to rest their key men again for the visit of Zaragoza with Kaka, Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema, all unused substitutes in midweek, likely to start.
Defenders Pepe and Sergio Ramos could also remain in the starting XI from midweek after they earned bans to rule them out of the Nou Camp return.
Zaragoza will give a late fitness test to on-loan midfielder Nicolas Bertolo after he was injured in their crucial 1-0 success over Almeria on Monday night.
Herrera Ander is banned after he was sent off late in that victory but the visitors will be boosted by the returns of Kalu Uche and Ivan Obradovic from their suspensions.

Antoine Griezmann claims it is a good time to play Barcelona as Real Sociedad look for a relegation boost against the all-conquering Catalans.
Barca head to Sociedad on Saturday buoyed by their 2-0 Champions League win at Real Madrid on Wednesday in a fractious encounter lit up only by the brilliance of Lionel Messi.
Messi grabbed two late goals at the Bernabeu, the second a trademark dribble and finish, to edge his side closer to the Wembley final.

They have won just one of their last nine games and lie three points above the bottom three but Griezmann remains confident they can spring a huge surprise at the Anoeta at the weekend.

Second-placed Madrid will look to bounce back from their midweek disappointment when they host Real Zaragoza, another side in danger at the wrong end of the table, on Saturday.
Zaragoza beat Almeria 1-0 on Monday to climb out of the relegation zone but are likely to find it more difficult against a Madrid side smarting from their controversial loss to Barca.
Jose Mourinho's men had Pepe dismissed on the hour mark before succumbing to Messi's double.
After the game, Mourinho criticised referee Wolfgang Stark and suggested there was an agenda at UEFA to help Barca in Champions League ties.
Saturday's other game sees Atletico Madrid go to Deportivo La Coruna.
Atletico are looking good for a place in next season's Europa League while Depor are five places, but just three points, clear of the drop zone.
The dogfight to remain in the Primera Division continues on Sunday with a number of key fixtures.
Rock-bottom Almeria, who are all but gone, take on European hopefuls Sevilla while the most important game sees second-bottom Hercules visit a Malaga side currently a point clear of trouble.
Osasuna, in 18th, host Valencia whose three-match winning streak ended at home to Real Madrid last weekend, Racing Santander take on Real Mallorca and Getafe go to Villarreal.
Levante meet Sporting Gijon in a clash of mid-table sides and Monday's action sees Athletic Bilbao go to Espanyol.

Ronaldo left Old Trafford for a world record £80million in 2009 to pursue his long-held dream of playing for Real Madrid. However, life in Spain so far has not turned out as Ronaldo would have hoped. For the second season running, Real are destined to finish runners-up to Barcelona in La Liga whilst Wednesday's controversial 2-0 defeat to their fiercest rivals at the Bernabeu means, almost certainly, it will be the Catalans who make it through to next month's Champions League final at Wembley. As United have coped with Ronaldo's departure rather better and are well placed to regain the Premier League, in addition to facing Barcelona on May 28, there has been some talk the former world player of the year would be interested in a return to Old Trafford. But Ferguson, who was in Madrid to watch Wednesday's stormy confrontation, does not see how that could happen. "It would be very difficult," said Ferguson, when asked whether Ronaldo could come back. "He had a great time here but he is at a great club now too." Few connected with United have anything but good words to say about Ronaldo, who scored 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Red Devils, helping them to three championships on the trot and the 2008 Champions League. Ferguson continues to think of him as the best player in the world, despite the competing claims of Lionel Messi, and wasted little time seeking Ronaldo out on Wednesday to commiserate at Real's demise. "I spoke to him after the game," said the United chief. "He had a great time here, we got six years out of him. We got him as a kid and he went to Madrid a man. "He is enjoying being there and though he might not have been at his best on Wednesday, he is still a great player." In fact, it could be argued Real's over-reliance on Ronaldo is one of their weaknesses. As a team, they are clearly inferior to Barcelona and Ferguson accepts the only way to get the best from each individual is through the unit as a whole. "Teams always win the big competitions," he said. "Individuals can make a difference, as Ronaldo did many times for us, but if you look at the work-rate of our team collectively on Tuesday night that is what we try to aim for. "If we achieve anything it will be the collective that does it." United also try and aim for the entertaining brand of football they produced against Schalke on Tuesday, for which Barcelona are also noted. However, no-one aspires to the kind of spectacle Barca were part of on Wednesday. Aside from Messi's brilliant second goal, the game will be remembered for its spiteful edge, persistent play-acting and Jose Mourinho's outrageous comments at the end. Ferguson is wisely staying out of the argument, although it did cross his mind on the night how little football was actually being played. "This is not the time to discuss it because there is so much in the post-match analysis, with the recriminations on both sides," he said. "We should let the dust settle and concentrate on reaching the final. "The only thing I would say is that there could have been only one hour's play because the game stopped so much. "You want to go to a game and see an hour and a half."

  Sir Alex Ferguson has challenged his Manchester United side to produce a grandstand finish to the Premier League season and demonstrate that the criticisms about their performance have "not been well-founded" by beating Arsenal and Chelsea.
  United have the opportunity to deliver a telling blow in the title race when they travel to Arsenal on Sunday to face a side that have won one of their past nine matches in all competitions. After what should be the formality of the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Schalke on Wednesday, the league leaders then play second-placed Chelsea the following Sunday at Old Trafford, where they have dropped two points all season.
  If everything goes according to plan, that would be the game when United overtake Liverpool with a record 19th league title. Arsenal's dismal run has seen them fall nine points behind and anything but a home win will confirm what already looks a certainty &#8211; a sixth successive season without silverware for Arsène Wenger.
  "We want to win these games," Ferguson said. "People have been inferring for some time that this is Arsenal's chance to beat us on their ground and come back to win the league, and that it is Chelsea's chance to beat us at Old Trafford and win the league. Well, I take a different view and my view is why can we not win these games? The form we are in, we have a chance of doing that. They are not easy games but they are not going to be easy games for Arsenal or Chelsea either."
  Ferguson believes his players are "coming to their peak" despite some prolonged criticism about the level of their performances, particularly away from home. Didier Deschamps, the Marseille manager, summed up the popular view when the sides met in the Champions League quarter-finals, describing the current United side as not having the same "stardust" of previous teams. Ferguson, however, cited the way they had outclassed Schalke in Gelsenkirchen on Tuesday, when the two-goal margin of victory barely told the story of their dominance.
  "An individual can make a difference, as [Cristiano] Ronaldo did many times, but [Wayne] Rooney and Chicarito [Javier Hernández] are making the difference now and [Antonio] Valencia's form is making a difference. If you look at the work-rate of our team collectively on Tuesday, that is what we aim for. The collective unit was first class and, if we do achieve anything, it will be the collective that does it. It is the teams who win the major competitions."
  With five wins on the road, his side are on the verge of becoming the first to win the league with fewer than eight away victories since Liverpool in 1976-77. "We have had enough criticism about our away form," Ferguson said. "Some of it has been justified. I haven't been happy with some of the away form but our form at Old Trafford has been magnificent, first class. We have had some great performances and scored the most goals in the league and overall the criticism has not been well founded."
  Ferguson was in Spain on Wednesday to watch the encounter between Real Madrid and Barcelona and take notes about possible opponents for the Champions League final at Wembley on 28 May. The game and its surrounding controversies disappointed him "because there is so much in the post-match analysis, with the recriminations on both sides".
  He said: "We can concentrate on reaching the final and let the dust settle. The only thing I would say is that there could have been only one hour's play because the game was stopped so much. You want to go to a game and see an hour and a half."
  Ferguson was also disappointed to learn that Manchester City's fans at Blackburn Rovers on Monday had serenaded Yaya Touré with a song that called United "the Munichs" &#8211; in reference to the 1958 air disaster. "It is a sad reflection on society. There are a lot of things that appal me in life. You see some of the crimes that are committed today. But there is nothing we can do about it."
