1. Nakuru town -Kenya.This is a fast growing town in Kenya and might soon be elevated to the state of being a city.It is famous within Kenya and East Africa for being a major stop over for trucks and passenger vehicles travelling to the western parts including Uganda. Nakuru is the headquarters of Nakuru county.It is also famous for its tourist attractions that include the Lake Nakuru National park.
2. Mtwara -Tanzania. It is the headquarters of the Mtwara region in southeastern Tanzania. Mtwara is a town located in the coastal region of Tanzania along the Coast line.Though it was built in the earlier 1940's to aid in the export of groundnuts,its ports have remained abandoned for a while until recently in the early 1990's.Its famous for having featured in some of the songs from the famous Bongo stars of Tanzania.
3. Ngororero -Rwanda. If you are travelling to Rwanda as a tourist,this is one of the towns you can't fail to visit.It is one of the most significant genocide memorials outside Kigali.It is the spot where 14,500 Tutsis were burnt alive during the 1994 genocide that claimed the lives of over 800,000 people.
4.Thika town -Kenya.This town is famous for the rapid growing industries around it.It is the most industrious town in Kenya,almost tying with Nairobi City.Due to the fact that most learning institutions are also found here,it has grown to be a very populous town.It is famously known for "Starehe'' and "Anasa" which means partying.
5.Mwanza City -Tanzania.It is a port town on the shores of Lake Victoria. It is famously known for its granite rocks that sit in the waters of Lake Victoria. These rocks are found near the Kamanga ferry station that is ever busy.
6. Lira town,Uganda.With the town set to become a city by 2022,its infrastructure is fast growing.It is located in the northern region of Uganda.
7. Eldoret town-Kenya.East Africa is known to produce athletes who compete at the international levels.Most of the athletes are from the areas around Eldoret town.It has been recently branded ''The home of Champions" due to the renown athletes come from the region.
8. Lamu town -Kenya.It is said to be the oldest town in Kenya. Lamu town is famous because it is a UNESCO World Heritage site,something to be proud of.
