Habari wakuu, kama mtu anaweza nisaidia Microsoft office2003(powerpoint,ms-access,word) naomba msaada wake.Natanguliza shukrani

MS Office (2003 and all the others) is a proprietary software and we should be asking where can we buy one. Hassan, why not try looking at open source office suite or even online versions.

  • Gnome Office - There are a bunch of GNOME/Gtk applications that are useful in an office enviroment.
  • KOffice - a free open source office suite which is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Haiku OS [3]. It contains among others, a word processor (KWord), a spreadsheet application (KSpread) and a presentation program (KPresenter).
  • OpenOffice.org - OpenOffice.org 3 is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. NeoOffice - a Mac OS port.
  • OxygenOffice - OxygenOffice Professional(OOOP, O2OP)is an enhanced version of free OpenOffice.org what is a multi-platform office productivity suite.OxygenOffice Professional contains more extras like templates, cliparts, samples, fonts and VBA support. Get 3.1.1 now!
  • Texnic - TeXnicCenter is a feature rich and easy-to-use integrated environment for creating LaTeX documents on the Windows platform. Its powerful editor and its tight integration with the LaTeX environment helps you to concentrate on what matters: The content of your document. TeXnicCenter is Free Open Source Software (GPL).

Well that is if you respects licences.

I'm sorry to say that we would all like to stop piracy by using open source but they don't work with windows!! and telling someone to start using linux, is like trying to teach an old dog new tricks.. and YES we can try to use open source software, but if you look at the internet access that we have how would we run any update for it??

So as long as we have pirated software in the world, i guess that will do for most of us out here...

Loner,

OpenOffice, OxgenOffice and Lotus Symphony can all run on MS Windows. I used OpenOffice on MS Windows for a while before switching to Linux as a default platform. About Internet access, for most of these suites, upgrade can be done once in a long while. It can be argued that once you install MS Office you do not do any updates, its the same with any of the three above.

This month's Tri Labs newsletter covers Office Tools - office suites, email clients and IM clients. There is a rumor that we will make it possible for people to order CDs with all the tools discussed on the newsletter at an affordable price, I do not see it exceeding TSH 5000. If this comes to life then we will bare all the heavy cost of downloading and packaging all the software for you. We hope this will solve the Internet problem that hinders many from using open source software, in the long run. We (you, I and others) still have to think hard on ways we can make update available for free or at a very low cost that we can all afford, to allow people to take full advantage of the open source software.

I hope this answers your concerns above.
