"Man can only liberate himself"critically discuss this statment

The sentence can be discussed in different aspects.
1.man can only liberate himself - can imply that the only thing that man can do is to liberate himself and nothing else.

2.It can also mean that a man can on his own struggle find his liberty without depending on others or fate.(actual meaning I guess)

3.On the other side it might be saying that a man can achieve personal liberty without considering others.

At least I tried!
