Msando, who was in charge of KIEMS, was murdered in what Opposition leaders claim had to do with the election. International investigators FBI (US) and Scotland Yard (UK) have offered to help.
The official will be buried at his Lifunga Kobiero village in Ugenya, Siaya county.
Relatives will hold fundraising events on Monday and Tuesday at All Saints Cathedral from 5.30pm.
They have asked well-wishers to chip in and given M-Pesa pay bill number 952777 with 'Chris Msando' as the account name for those who cannot attend. On Thursday, a requiem mass will be held at Consolata Shrine in Westlands starting 10 am.
An autopsy revealed Msando was strangled to death. In his report, government pathologist Johansen Oduor said: "He died from strangulation and had incisions on his right arm but the rest of his body was intact."
It was also reported that Carol Ngumbu, 21, who was killed alongside the official, was also strangled. It is not clear when she will be buried.
