Hi all,

Niko na swali kwa wanafunzi wanaosoma medicine hapo Muhimibli school of medicine. Is all your instruction in Engish or Kiswahili? kwenye ward teaching is it more flexible switching from English to Swahili? Nadhani wagonjwa wengi hawafahamu kiiengereza does that force you to switch to kiswahili?
 
what proportion of ur patients atleast grab a word or two then tu speak to them in english? say they understand what u say, do u manage to acquire an exhaustive history then? so how would u diagnose them
 
all the teachings are in english, kiswahili is only used when the patient is part of the conversation.. ignore my previous comment.

mbona hujiulizi daktari wa muhimbili anawezaje kumtibu mchina,mrundi,mmasai au msonjo.

Wanafanya kama Loliondo tu, kikombe tu basi haijalishi unaumwa nini. Kwa mfano kichwa badala ya mguu.
 
Wamarekani wakija kutibu Tanzania wanaongea kiswahili au kingereza?
Mbona fikra za kihabith hizi?
 
I asked out of interest not childishness. Sijui siasa za medical schools and I have no particular preference. If you have to translate histories surely there are bound to be errors in translation? How does a patient tell you he or she has a wheeze or pins and needles? just an example

medicine is universal why should someone think swahili is difficult when taking a patient's history.

Remember! Most patients(except doctors who are sick) will speak in the so called layman's language and it is up to the particular doctor to extract a 'history' from the 'story' given by the patient.this applies to all med schools not muhas alone.

Stop trying read my mind. I just asked some very simple questions. Pengine the only wrong was to direct it to a specific medical school. Clearly it is a very sensitive matter.

1. Bubu - If you can treat without getting someone with sign language to extract the history good for you.
2. Infant - That is what parents are there for.
3. asiyekuwa na fahamu - no capacity or dementia -sijui maybe you can tell us.
 


English na Kiswahili ni lugha rasmi kutumika....Na uzuri zote ni intrenational language. Tatizo la wabongo na waafrika wengi ni kudhani kiwahili sio lugha rasmi. Kuna wanafunzi hasa kutoka nchi kama uganda huwa mazuzu pale ambapo wanaona kiswahili sio lugha ya kutuma sehemu kama vyuoni wakati wenyewe hawana lugha rasmi ya kuwaunganisha wote. Kwa taarifa ni kuwa luganda ni kwa watu wa buganda tu.... hivyo ukiwa kama unasoma Medicine Makerere ndio kichefuchefu maana wagonjwa hutumia local language tofauti tofauti.

Kuna Radio presenter mmoja wa radio moja anatoka Uganda lakini hatoki kabila la Baganda ila anaona fahari kuongea Luganda (ambayo sio lugha yake) na kuponda kiswahili...huyu yeye anatoka kabila moja la waacholi...anaboa sana.

Hivyo Bongo ni poa sana.

Kwani ndo tuseme hawataki kufanya Kazi zao, wajiulize fani hizo walisoma za nini? kama vipi waache hata kusoma fani hizo basi maana hakuna lolote wanalo fanya badala yake wanatisha watu na maisha yao.
