Pharmaceutical firm Sanofi has opened a regional office in Nairobi to co-ordinate its commercial activities in the country and neighbouring states including Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia.
Sanofi has been supplying prescription products and vaccines in the East African market.
“Establishing a regional office in Kenya is a strong vote of confidence by Sanofi on its investment intent for the region,” Peter Munyasi, general manager of Sanofi for East Africa said.
In Kenya, Sanofi has concentrated its disease management efforts on diabetes and thrombosis, launching a new diabetes drug last month.
The drug maker joins an increasing number of French multinationals which are growing their footprint in Kenya.

Other firms that have set up regional offices in Nairobi include construction firm Bechtel and General Electric.
