Museveni Leaves for China - Africa Summit

Chinese President Xi Jinping will from Monday host leaders from across the continent for the two-day Forum on China-Africa Co-operation, which will include talks on his cherished "Belt and Road" infrastructure programme.

ENTEBBE. President Yoweri Museveni and his wife Janet Museveni have today left for Beijing, China to attend the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
“First Lady @JanetMuseveni and I have left for Beijing, where we shall attend the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The summit's theme is China and Africa: Toward an Even Stronger Community with a Shared Future through Win-Win Cooperation," the President said in a tweet on Saturday.

Forum on China-Africa Summit (FOCAC) is an official forum between the People’s Republic of China and all African states.

Chinese President Xi Jinping will from Monday host leaders from across the continent for the two-day Forum which will include talks on his cherished "Belt and Road" infrastructure programme.

At the last three-yearly gathering in Johannesburg in 2015, Xi announced $60 billion of assistance and loans for Africa.
