The Tanzania Tourism Board (TTB) and Ethiopian Airline (ET) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a two year cooperation to promote Tanzania abroad for mutual benefit.
The event, which is part and parcel of TTB endeavor to market and promote destination Tanzania worldwide, took place recently at Uhuru Hostel in Moshi. It was officiated by the TTB Managing Director, Dr. Aloyce Nzuki and the Ethiopian Airline’s Sales Representative, Mr Haile Melokot Memo. The ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of the TTB’s Board of Directors, Ambassador Charles Sanga, Board member, Mr. Sam Diah and top officials of the TTB.
According to the MoU the TTB would explore and implement promotional activities related to tourist traffic to Tanzania by way of Ethiopian Airline services. These will include advertising in the Airline in-flight magazine, direct marketing of Tanzania tour operators, promoting ET on the TTB website, allowing ET have a desk at TTB stand in trade and consumer fairs and joint road shows.
Other TTB responsibilities include support advertising and promotional campaigns aimed at promoting Tanzania and Ethiopia as twin–destinations, to facilitate direct charter ET flights between Frankfurt (Germany) and Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) during the Ethiopian winter season in the manner that will be agreed by both parties, and to support ET in its efforts to develop package program to Tanzania through its ET holidays division.
On its part, the Ethiopian Airline will support familiarization programmes for trade and media in Tanzania and Ethiopia, primarily by introducing international passage and facilitate seat reservations on the Airline for Tanzania tour operators and to work with TTB by organizing trips and road shows at various destinations particularly, North America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific.
It is expected that among the benefits of the cooperation will be increasing number of visitors to both Tanzania and Ethiopia, increase the presence of Tanzania Tourism in key international markets, and enhance business profile of Ethiopian Airline.
Ethiopian Airline is a strong African carrier, currently with 36 weekly frequencies into Tanzania: at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) and Zanzibar International Airport ( ZIA). It is serving 62 destinations worldwide.

what type of market are you targeting with such kind of agreement?
some time we ( walipa kodi) are tired. You are misusing our resources....
other countries are trying hard to explore new/emerging market but for you people since Uhuru you have been relying on traditional market. Why don't you come up with new strategies of exploring Korean, Arab world and china markets
I thought after Mwenguo you would have something new??? why dont you learn from kaka zenu wakenya?????
