A nursing lecturer at the University of Nairobi, Anna Hotannah Khahugan, was arrested on Thursday, October 24, in connection with the mysterious death of her 13-year-old son.

The decomposing body of the young boy, Emmanuel Solomon Inyama, was found wrapped in a blanket at her house in Kifaru apartments, South B estate Nairobi.

Speaking to the Nation, Police Boss Philip Ndolo confirmed that they had found the body in the living room at around 6 P.M on Wednesday.

“The suspect was in the house at the time. We are investigating the incident,” the police boss stated.
The caretaker of the apartment, Stephen Mwangi, alleged that a foul smell emanating from the suspect's house prompted him to peep through a window to see if he could identify the source of the smell, People Daily reported.

Initial reports claimed that based on the body's state, the young boy may have been dead for at least 7 days.

During their interrogation with the Makadara Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers, Ms Khahugan's family claimed that she had been withdrawn and showing signs of depression in recent days.
