Asante kwa kuja na hongera kwa attempt hii. Umewahi kuifikiria MICROSOFT ACCESS kwa undani wake? Binafsi nina projects ambazo zinataka "offline first" technology, na hii ndo direction nataka kuchukua.
Inaweza kuwa networked kwa sababu ina uwezo wa multi user access, inaweza kuwa bundled kama .exe file nk.
Nicheki dm kama utahitaji mwongozo zaidi.

Iwe networked: kwa maana ya LAN basi unaweza kufanya kwa kutumia ODBC.
Iwe Networked: kwa maana ya shared folder kwenye LAN , basi unaweza kutumia MS ACCESS database.
Kama ndio project ya kwanza ni vyema ungefanya kwa kutumia Ms Access database kama Samedi Amba alivyokushauri. Kwa sababu Ms access ina support multi user (Concurrent connection) Kwa wakati mmoja, na pia imerahisishwa. Utatengeneza Interface na database hukohuko.

Kama unajua C++ then jifunze wxwidgets. Ni rahisi kutumia ukiisha jifunza basics ina support nzuri documentation ya kutosha. Unaweza kutumia any native database sdk au ukatumia wxDatabase kuinganisha na any eatanase of your choice
Kama ni mpenzi wa Python then utatumia wxPython kujenga UI na basic networking. Kuna networking modules nyingi tu kwa advanced features na unaweza kutumia any DBAPI 2.0 compliant module.
Mostly it is your choice

Ms SQL server ndio rahisi kushare kwenye network . So long as umeshare create instance ni easy kushare either through WiFi or wired LAN

Tujuze zaidi mkuu. Coz kuanza c# and the like from scratch is not for the faint hearted, and it will take a lot of time to do basics. In a world of Rapid Application Development (RAD), where clients don't care about your hustle (as long as it works), you want to develop solutions that are both scalable and affordable.
Office 365 is the in thing, and comes with a lot of stuff loaded. Additionally, you can use Ms access as the front end to your database of choice, preferably Ms sql server as a member has suggested.
But, hey, this is subject to personal choice. Let's keep suggesting, and the one who started the thread will make an informed judgement.

Then why even waste time developing? Just buy a ready made solution or pay someone to develop it.

Aisee. Ms Access bado ipo useful , aidha kwa kutumia database na interface yake nyenyewe i.e VBA, au kutumia Interface nyingine. VBA Runtime pia zipo supported na microsoft .
