NBA Season 2015 - 2016: Special thread

Kobe Bryant Turns Back Clock, Dunks For First Time This Season

Sure, Kobe Bryant's got two-thirds of a season left but, as you know, that 37-year-old body has had trouble making it to April. As such you should treat pretty much anything he does on the court as the last time you'll ever see it. Tonight/last night (depending on when you're reading this) Mamba dunked on a man 16-years his junior, Houston's
Clint Capela, for his first throwdown of the season and, perhaps, the last of his career. Maybe he'll do it again in two minutes, or maybe the icing he'll need on those knees postgame will convince him it's just not worth it anymore. If it is the last time cherish it. Someday you'll be able to tell your grandchildren that you saw Kobe's final dunk...through an internet vine...on your cell phone...possibly while you took a bus to work. Life doesn't get much more sentimental than that.

Lakers Top 2015 List Of NBA's Most Valuable Teams; Average Franchise Is Now Worth Record $1.1 Billion

The Philadelphia 76ers named Mike D?Antoni their associate head coach on Friday, the team announced in a news release.
D?Antoni joins the Sixers amid significant front-office upheaval and a franchise searching for a quicker rebuild. He brings decades (881 games) of coaching experience to Philadelphia, which is 1-26.

New York (AFP) - Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson has been suspended two games without pay by the NBA for drink driving, the league announced Friday.
Former Denver Nuggets guard Lawson was charged last January with drunken driving, speeding and other violations. He pleaded guilty last month in Colorado to driving while impaired and faces up to 180 days in jail when sentenced next month.
After another drink driving arrest last July in Los Angeles, Lawson was ordered to complete a rehabilitation program. He was also traded from the Nuggets after six seasons in Denver to Houston.
Lawson, 28, begins his suspension on Saturday when the Los Angeles Clippers visit Houston. He will also miss Houston's home game Monday against Charlotte before returning next Wednesday at Orlando and ahead of a December 25 home game against San Antonio.
At 13-14, the Rockets are seventh in the Western Conference but nine games behind the pace-setting Spurs in the Southwest division.
Lawson is averaging 5.9 points, 4.2 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals a game. For his NBA career, Lawson is averaging 13.7 points, 6.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds a game.

Daah when I see Kobe and thinking this is his last ever season, too sad..

Raimundo, there's one thing about the Dubs you ought to know by now and that is...never count them out until the last whistle.

Nadhani leo Desemba 23, 2015 (at 28-1), mzizi wa fitina umekatwa na kama wale doubters bado wapo ni wakati mzuri kwao kukiri kwamba Warriors win last year was no fluke, the boys deserved whatever credit they received for their performance. Let's face it guys, the boys are good...

Hahahaaa Mr.Poser at your best.

First things first, Yuletide greetings my friend.

Now back to basketball. Dude, you need to chill out and pump the brakes just a tad.

One, that was just a single game, not a series. It was not a playoff of championship game. Just a regular season game which was very competitive, by the way.

It was neither a runaway nor blowout. A six-point win. But a win is a win. I'll give you that.

Two, this year's Warriors, thus far [operative words], are markedly better than last year's. The numbers don't lie.

I still believe if the Cavaliers had all their work-horses last season they would have won the chip. Again, pay attention to my words.

Because, let's face it, do you really think if two-thirds of the Warriors' big three had been out in the finals while the CAVS had all their work-horses in place the Warriors would have won the series? I don't think so.

And that's not to take anything away from your dear-DUBS. They won and they are the reigning, defending champs. But, it's also a fact, not fiction, that they faced a CAVS team that was severely shorthanded.

Third, having said all that, do you realize how good my San Antonio Spurs are this season? They are 25-5 and plenty of people are sleeping on them. They, like your DUBS, haven't lost a game at home yet. But they are somehow beneath many people's radar.

Again, Yuletide greetings to you and yours. My Uber driver is outside waiting for me. I gotta go. Catch you later.

San Antonio Spurs...do you mean the boys that lost today's game against the Houston Rockets? Well they are now 25-6 after 31 games! The DUBS on the other hand are 28-1 with two games to spare! You could be trying to compare apples to oranges...please dont, it wont work!

As to the CAVs, numbers dont lie either. Did you notice how they faired against the Warrior's second string? To make things worse, when they are in court, they play anything but basketball. American Football or better still Wrestling would probably suit them better but then again style and finesse are terms foreign to their brand of play!

Me? A poser? I like the term but only if poser is anything like being down to earth. Salute Nyani Ngabu, for now I have decided to shun Jukwaa la Siasa, I thought it wise to give Pombe 90 days before I decide whether he is really for real, ha ha haaa!
