We do not need the EU monitors to tell us what we have known for more than two decades that CCM never wins an election they steal it and here are some compelling facts:-
1) When voter turnout is claimed by NEC to be 67% you must be a fool not to smell a rat. When we saw Kariakor and almost all business premises everywhere were abandoned let alone church faithful altered their worship calender only to vote, we contemplated a historical voter turnout which without massive rigging unprecedented in our post independence history it could have ushered in a good omen....that voter apathy has been numbed for good but the NEC bungled election will in future dissuade most of us from queueing to exercise our constiyutional right knowing the die was already cast even before we actually voted.
NEC SHOULD STOP LYING TO US VOTER TURNOUT WAS MORE THAN 90%.
2) When you see the level of a highly politicised police force dismantling NATIONAL TALLYING CENTERS FOR UKAWA and of a famous NGO HRLC then you do not need eyes to know the establishment knows we all know how they have rigged this election to its core. What are they afraid of if the election was free and fair? Are they not burdened by guilty conscience that their legitimacy to lead the next five years is now thrown in a pit latrine forever? Who will ever trust CCM to govern us properly if they stole this election?
3) Then there were senior cabinet ministers caught napping with bundles of cast votes carefully sealed in NEC bought transparent boxes, and the police looked the other way to legitimize massive rigging.
4). UKAWA had made last ditch to halt announcement of results but their pleas of mercy were ignored. NEC is not representative of our national fabric and is aggresively biased towards the rulers of the day no wonder ccm predetermined results before elections are fully honoured.
5) CCM senior party leader one Nape Nnauye had promised Maradona's hand goal and neither NEC, the Police or Takukuru bothered to investigate because its wayward inevitability was pleasant to their wicked intentions.
6) CCM stay in power now owes its debt to converting this peaceful nation into a police state and its first casualty is human rights and economic development. Do not expect this country to advance but in lip service and tons of paperwork!
THE WAY FORWARD:-
1) Change do come but meaningful reforms are generational, tedious and slow paced. Let us not expect much from the vanguards of Nyerere dictatorial rule to endow us with good governance or economic prosperity. To think otherwise is naivety.
2) From the first observation above there is no need to overreact to this hurtful injustice no matter what the UKAWA luminaries may urge us to, because we will be playing into the hands of our horrendous tormentors. There are other ways of peaceful protest which may include not taking part into their future national building snares that they now urgently need to legitimize themselves after the obvious humiliation they have suffered at the ballot box.
3) UKAWA should continue to test the system without fear. To begin with ,they have to open a constitutional assault on despicable conduct of this ccm prejudiced NEC and get the court of appeal proper interpretation of constitutional imposed limits on challenging NEC declared presidential acclamation.
4) UKAWA must abstain from civil disobedience because our economy is too fragile and the cost of living will be a huge cost to all of us. Timing demands sobriety.
5). Since the results are out UKAWA should also release the true picture of what actually happened. We hear NEC did not respect the will of voters they chose to announce their own concocted wishful thinking. We are also aware this is how ccm has clang to power for the last twenty years. The myth that Tanzanians elect ccm no matter how they perform has now been shattered into shards. We have been like other human beings rewarding the deserving performers but punishing hard underperformers in equal measure. Our dreams and aspirations have always been knifed by ccm graft guzzlers whose legitimacy to the high table is a gratitude to forging a brutal police regime in a country mired in lawlessness.
6) While this nation overwhelmingly voted for change but few have to appreciate fully neither ccm nor UKAWA embrace our aspirations at all. Ukawa is more hypocritical than ccm as abundantly exposed in a cockeyed constitutional process where they buttressed the Warioba commission constitutional draft sham which miserably attempted to corrupt our three arms of government with executive perks. While the Warioba feint promised separation of powers of three arms of government but encroached these nobler constitutional pillars when they proposed "Kamati ya uteuzi" to hijack constitutional elected presidential authority and placed those executive powers to his judicial and parliamentary appointees diffusing the lines of authority among those three arms of government diluting even further the accountability checks and balances. Ccm having tasted power and corruption opted to preserve the status quo during constitutional mayhems. Either side is self serving with no intentions to empower the powerless masses notwithstanding the euphonious mantra of "people's power" UKAWA loves to hide their devious intents.
