New administration under Samia Suluhu gives hope after 5 years of hopelessness

He bragged about having "magurumeti"and was looking forward to counteroffensive of his own against the police tear gases following the massive demos he was about to unleash the mother of all protests in our motherland

Here is a problem

Apart from the confrontational words, Mdude has zero means to carry out his ominous threats

And, nothing of his utterances suggested incitement or treason but he swore to protect his right to demos which he is entitled to

The police has a number of unsavoury brushes with Mdude and all ended with acquittal signalling the police is illegally profiling him which says a lot of what is wrong with our police

Magurumeti could also have other meaning beyond lethal bombs

Again, where is treason Mdude had committed?

We are also agonizing to peek incitement from Mdude verbal threats albeit we read recklessness

But recklessness manifests neither treason nor incitement but an indication of a frustrated young man with the malaise consuming the nation today

And, the police should have known better

Than fomenting unnecessary "taharuki"

We keep asking ourselves at Chuo cha Polisi in Moshi what do they really learn?

Looks like whatever the police training school is offering has miserably failed to confront modern day criminal challenges

What we see outdated teaching curricular is churning out semi cooked police cadets more akin to gratuitous application of force rather than intelligent thinking out the challenges

What the police fails to grasp is most political criminal indictments drag in our judicial systems for years, and the DPP usually defer hearings indefinitely citing lack or insufficient evidence for convictions

The question the DPP office will never answer in honest

Why charge anybody on no or insufficient evidence unless you are deliberately abusing public office and constitutional personal freedoms of the accused?

Majority of the DPP cases end up with the invidious "nolle prosequi" after bailing denials of the wrongfully accused for years

We need reforms with our criminal justice system

All suspects must have the right of bail under all circumstances including terrorism, murder, illicit drugs, treason etc in order to curtail prosecutorial abuse of power
