The most damaging effect the medias have on our kids is the "instant result" syndrome.

They want everything now. If they have to wait, then it's not worth it.

When things get difficult they move to the next stuff, then the next stuff.

If you tell them their Mom waited 9 months for them to be born, they'd say their mom is stupid!

All, They want is to be manager, which means to give orders to some else to do the job. They don't have time for the details.

If you tell them the farmer has to wait 5 months to grow the corn, they'd say they prefer the popcorn made in the Cinema instantly.

"Instant result" is the new disease that fuel consumerism and is destroying our social fabric and ecology!

I have been working in the a Government institution for a while and trust me, Instant information and instant action are the tools for my success. U want me to call some1, i will take my mobile and call ... you want me to take an action, i just dont wait 5 minutes if I can do it right now. The future is uncertain, why wait if everything can be done right away.

u need guts to be Patient; why the heck should you wait if goods are available right away? for the case of fertilization of human beings and agricultural products ..... u go to be patient like a damn looser

Science and technology have revolutionized everything, including what we choose to think. If you observe young people embrace new stuffs which are not comfortable to you do not worry. The reality of life will take care of everything.

No one can escape from the "reality" of globalization. And the so called "instant results" as you have said is the amongst of the effects of globalization. It's not "too bad" young people to act that way. It's part of what we call socialization process.

Tell young people to focus on what can be achievable and not spend much of their efforts trying to accomplish something which yield no good fruits. Period!
