Official thread :- Countdown to JFK (KQ INAUGURAL FLIGHT)

first USA to EAC direct flights...this is a very lucrative route since so many passengers, tourists, agricultural produce and other cargo use it...a good portion of EAC's 5 million tourists annually come from the US...the future looks bright for KQ

Hahaha..Boss Ndege si matatu na basi za machakos bus station. Waaah i never thought am dealing with a complete idiot. Even Kenya's loss making SGR passanger train cannot carry cargo. Just go to them with your 1 ton potatoes you want to sell in mombasa and ask them to load them to the passager train bound for mombasa, the chinese will look at you and call you a monkey.
Cargo planes are configured differently from passager planes, passager cargo holds are for baggage..Their doors are smaller and cargo anchors are less roboust.
So as I said, KQ has no Cargo Plane with endurance of 15hrs, they have to rely on passager numbers which for now are 7000 booked from June to december that imply a loss making loading factor of only 30%.
The biggest winner on cargo will be ET unless Broke KQ buys or leases a 777 -F or 747 -8F

hahahahaha the fake expert.. PHD in Kiherehere... this fool is hilarious ...

We know this is pure ignorance but don't embrace your self like this. KQ will carry some flowers but not to the capacity they carry to Europe. Even KQ themselves are not promoting cargo to US for a very good reason.
Flower exporters seek to have space in Kenya Airways’ US direct flights

First thing you need to know, is how much 787-8 can carry (passenger, cargo, and fuel) JKIA being on 5000ft above sea level, it doest give room to carry everything to the maximum especially for a long haul flight to New York. You either curry more fuel (100tons max) or more cargo. Considering the flight is 15hrs long, fuel will take priority than cargo. This is the same reason Ethiopian Airline has no direct flight to US even though they fly to US. Bole Airport is even on higher altitude than Nairobi, air on those altitudes is much thinner and lighter which make it difficult to lift heavy payload. Ethiopian Airline they carry small amount of fuel to another destination (Europe) before proceeding to US.

Boss, KQ does not have 747 in their fleet. That plane is an old hog that was decomissioned together with the many 767's KQ owned.
The only cargo plane KQ Has is 737-F.
There will be No Cargo from NBO-JFK, get that into your skull. And most of the tourists on board KQ will run to serengeti for the real bush experience and then cool off in Zanzibar archipelago or climb the highest mountain in Africa

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Utaambiwa KQ ni ya illuminati ju umesema "illuminating"[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Only an fool would land in Kenya, leave behind the best Hotels in EAC( NBO), a national park in the city serviced with a light plane 2nd airport (Wilson), the best beach in Africa (Diani), and the best infrastructure in EAC to go into an endless wilderness of Bushes with zero civilization and further move to Zanzibar, an Island Miles away where you end up spending more, zero value of money, language barrier, unpaved roads and still risk being infected by diseases. Then finally travel back to kenya(NBO) and fly back [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Tz tumewamaliza.

Cargo holds are for baggage only?!! You must be the biggest fool to come out of your village. All airlines make better margins on cargo, once the cargo is in it does not need expenses such as carbin crew etc. And most airlines don’t have cargo planes. Nothing new here, KQ has been transporting flowers to China & Amsterdam for years.
Like Delta, Air Canada doesn’t have any dedicated cargo aircraft: It makes all its cargo money from transporting freight in the holds of its passenger jets. The vast cargo capacity of today’s large jets — can carry more than 20 metric tons (44,000 lbs) in the holds in addition to a full load of passengers — That can make the difference between profit and loss on a route. On average, 50% or more of international flights are only profitable due to cargo’s contribution

How Airlines Make Big Bucks From Cargo

you said it yourself ndege is matatu ,i wish u knew how much space iko hapo chini,

Are those airline you mentioned are flying for 15hrs?
