But, this is yet more leverage we can use against the Chinese to get free grants, I mean look at the Japanese for example, their loans are soft long term loans and they also include free grants as part of the package and they do a good job, their projects are usually very people centered, just look at ngong road, the Japanese refused to do the road until GoK added money and space for bike lanes and footpaths... and here come the Chinese, they want the SEZ which includes building a free port (like the one in Dubai) where everything that lands there or is manufactured within the SEZ is almost zero taxed.. So it’s not just Kenya that has a lot to loose, China too will be put to work if they back out...
