Air France is back on the East African aviation market after 18 years hiatus, with an introduction of three Nairobi bound weekly flights in a move touted by aviation experts as aimed at consolidating commercial capacity in the region.

As part of a joint venture between KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Kenya Airways, Air France has introduced a Boeing 787 dream liner on the route.

Briefing the media Monday in Nairobi, Air France Africa Senior Vice President Frank Legre said the airline was resuming flights following a strong relationship and good tides with Kenya Airways.

“We are coming up with a new agreement that will benefit travelers from 24 daily flights between Paris, Amsterdam and Nairobi,” he said adding that Air France, KLM and Kenya Airways customers will be able to reserve flights operated on a code-share basis by one of the three airlines on round-trip services between Paris- Nairobi and Amsterdam-Nairobi.

Kenya Airways will be operating 14 weekly flights of which seven will be between Paris-Nairobi and the other seven between Amsterdam-Nairobi.

“The commercial joint venture is also as a result of striving businesses between Kenya and France. The airline has six dream liners with assets to lure more customers with a great offer for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs),” added Legre.

How is this supposed to help KQ who are struggling to make profit on European routes.
AirFrance Bought KLM, the principle partner of KenyaAirways, Now using their Expanded control to further cannibalise KQ last profitable routes.
But because we are normaly sedated to facts and we abhor truth, we celebrate and enjaculate all over..End of the month we pay taxes and KQ uses that money to pay for its fuel
