Tanzania has enriched with abundant water resources ranging from big livers, dam, ocean, it has also advantage of being accessed by all continents easily through Indian Ocean, with good and conducive climate supporting varieties of fish species, It is also luck that these water bodies covers wide of Tanzania district and regions, from cost, southern west to north, even central where is possible for Dam from Rufiji basin, to mean for every region there is a possibility of benefiting reasonable population.
Having knowing that, then it is possible with no doubt that, within one year to two, local people around water bodies should be given purposeful education on proper fish farming, this can be done through meaningful project with maximum supervision from leaders with no private interests. Various fish farming around Tanzania could provide quantity and Quality fish which are marketable within and out of Tanzania Boundaries.
Youth who are majority will get self employment there, and National income will exactly increase through export. Imagine how many people will be likely be employed from the project? The market is reliable domestically and exports, so where is the problem?
We are witnessing foreigner coming for fish farming around Victoria, (as a Case ) something which can be done by government by using local people. With no doubt if this is done in accordance in hand with fish processing industries Tanzania will be among of leading countries in fish export.
In short, there should be a one year project around Tanzania on where to establish farm, the project should involve experts and local people, around ares training be introduced to local people.
The forth year to five target ares will be all having fish farm and fish processing industries., Fish forms will be increasing according to the demands and advertisement of product with five years there will be in another level.
But all these will be possible if and only if authority will be serious on checking the progress (corruption) of the project. I wish to see Tanzania at the Top, by the way Tanzania is not poor is the matter of how we utilize our resources
