There is another tribalism that is not being talked about here.

Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga are from the same tribe. That of families of past national leaders.

Uhuru's father used to be President while Raila's father used to be Vice President.

Why do I not hear more about this tribalism? The tribe of the politically connected seems to win whoever wins, is it true that Uhuru/ Raila are the best Kenya has to offer? (OK,Uhuru maybe can make an argument on the merit, but Raila? Really?)

Or did they get to be where they are and a chance to contest the presidency, not because of merit,but because of nepotism and a quaint sense of hero worship?

This is also a form of tribalism in that it does not allow smart people with bright ideas who are coming from the tribe of the unconnected to get at shot at leading Kenya.

Trends imply they "usually" not always support a single candidate. Central, North Eastern or the coastal regions are likewise not made up of one or 2 tribes. But there's a reason why they're grouped that way, near unity of leadership choice. The key word being near.

I'm yet to hear the embu as a whole protest Kikuyu's dominance in power, it's because of the reason I gave before. of course various Aembus don't like it, but their portion of the total embu population isn't definitive of the Embu voting pattern.

This conversation has to happen at some point, we better get over it now. Presidential elections in Kenya are a competition between major tribes, look even the formation of NASA principals, none of them came from a minor tribe. It's hypocritical for them to seek secession immediately after losing the election, dragging small tribes along with their sick idea.

Remember they've dragged the Masaais, yet those voted for Jubilee, both Narok and Kajiado were taken by Uhuru's governors.

It's the most adverse yet invisible form of tribalism ever. Ati baada ya Mutula Kilonzo kuaga, in wana wake wamechukua usukani, like seriously? You're nothing but your forefather's name.

And all it takes to maintain this nepotism is ensure the vast population is as uneducated as is possible hence Ease their gullibility to useless rhetorics. Yanikumbusha kitabu cha shamba la wanyama. Wanyama wengine in sawa kuliko wenzao

I agree with your sentiments. As it stands today there are very many kenyans who harbor negative views about kenyans from other regions. Just look at the comments from kenyans in this thread for the avoidance of doubt. I think the solution lies in some regional rotation of the big seat. And it should be agreed what those regions are. Look at Nigeria for instance : they don't pretend to be a culturally unified entity, so all the major political parties there have an unwritten agreement to field a candidate from each of the six geopolitical zones each election time. Unlike Kenya, nigerians acknowledge and accept their differences and know full well that the term 'typical Nigerian ' is an ambiguous term. In that country, you would not hear open declarations from holders of the big seat that there will rule for eternity, something that has been done in Kenya. I mean how's that for 'national unity'! I have told my young ones that should they ever think of aspiring to elected office, their last names should never hinder them, inspite and despite there being folks who would judge them so. They can see for themselves bila kuambiwa that there are those who judge them for the name they hold and not the content of their character. That is the real Kenya.
That being said, I think its high time kenyans confronted this issue. Hate it as we may, this new phenomenon of the two new kenyas has cropped up in my living room convos lately ,as it has no doubt in others. Alot of kenyans use very derogatory names for kenyans from other parts. They carry those attitudes and bile into their daily interractions with other kenyans with inevitable (negative )consequences. Do you honestly think brotherhood /sisterhood can thrive in such an environment? Don't you think these things add onto one another till breaking point. Maswali mengi. Majibu adimu.

So Kenya ibaki na majorly Kalenjin, Kikuyu na Somali lol. Sioni wakikuyu wakiacha Nairobi iende, most of the property there is owned by them, and they are the majority community there.
