What makes me laugh ni Kenya mnaaza kuwa nchi ya misaada. Huku Tanzania were doing all we can not to depend on anyone, nyinyi your busy going back to be colonised kwa misaada na mikopo. SMH
For what I know, the low middle income status inawaumiza zaidi ya kuwasaidia. I mean Kenya being a lower middle income is still receiving donations, donation of food, donation of medicine, donation of police equipment, even donation from EU in the form of tax relief with EPA contract. Hata kama unasema sisi we're still on the AID list, lakini we're punching above our weight, feed ourselves, and pay our bills, buy our assets with our own money, even having a last say who can trade with us under what rules.I don't know in the LDC like Tanzania if such things happens? But i don't think because you are still in the category of "AID". In Developing and developed world, donation does not mean exactly, the way it applies in your AID world, donation comes in form of Skilled man power, Technological donations or sharing, Equipment and material donations.
To make you understand, here Uhuru was attending technology and equipment donations towards making Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and Eldoret to have the exact security technology as that in China.
Hope you understand. I know such things are of higher level than you guys can comprehend but just try, that is the easiest way i can put it.

I very doubt that amount of FDI will reach any "choka mbaya" or lift any sizable number of choka mbaya out of poverty in 2yrs. More likely, It will change the balance sheet of the same people who went there to sign it. And that is a fact.
Speed is one thing, debts is the other. The level of debts piled on future Kenyan generation is no where to be compared in Africa. I can guarantee you, the future Kenyan generation will be less fortune than their Tanzanian counterpart. Even now it comes a time a Kenyan finance minister fails to make repayment without borrowing more money only to pass it on to the previous lender.Whatever a Danganyikan thinks, dreams or talks in the land of Bongolalas will never affect our speed.

Dude please!!! To hell with your yapping, you think Kenya is all about borrowing and receiving donations??? Base your arguments on facts and give evidences of each. As a matter of fact Kenya also offers aid, i.e Kenya is Africa's largest contributor to the UN.Hata wewe ungetumia sekunde mbili ungesoma na kuekewa. Kenyatta anatembeza BAKULI, JPM anatumia fedha zetu wenyewe. Tofauti ni kubwa sana, ndio maana nakuambia Kenyatta anayanya yale yale ya JK, kupita pita na bakuli kila aendapo.
Thanks for the link, but that essay was written in 2011. I'm sure 6yrs on things have changed, not just in Kenya, but in Tanzania too. Kenya has drought now, has shortage of food, shortage of fresh water, the growth projection has been cut. I'm very much sure the author couldn't have predicted that 6yrs early. When it comes to aid, yes Kenya can look after herself but only if you do away with people the likes of Wainguru and co.

You have only mentioned drought as the reason for Kenya degenerating into an aid dependant countryy, however this is not the first time Kenya has gone thru this, and within those 6yrs it has expirienced myriads of challenges that could have possibly devasted its economy.
