President Uhuru to name his Cabinet

President Uhuru Kenyatta is on Tuesday expected to name his 18-member Cabinet.
The public will vet the nominees alongside a 28-member Committee of Appointments that has been approved by Parliament.
This will be the first time in Kenya's history that the public will be given a direct say in the appointment of such high ranking public officials.
A list of Principal Secretaries, heads of parastatals and diplomats, chosen from a shortlist by the Public Service Commission, will also be vetted.
The president last week reduced the number of ministries from 44 to 18, in line with his pledge on a lean administration.
Cabinet Secretaries (Ministers):
1. Amb. Amina Mohammed - Ministry of Foreign Affairs
2. Fred Matianga - Ministry ofICT
3. James Macharia - Ministry of Health
4. Adan Mohammed - Ministry of Industrialization and Enterprise Developement
5. Anne Waiguru - Ministry of Devolution and Planning
6. Davis Chirchir - Ministry of Energy and Petroleum
7. Amb. Rachel Awuor Omamo - Ministry of Defence
8. Eng. Michael S. Kamau - Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure
