In Summary
President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to visit Kisumu on Friday.
The President will be at the State Lodge, where he will host the winners of the Kenya Music Festival.
The Kenya National Music Festival took place in Kisumu and ended Thursday.
Twenty-five groups are expected to perform at the winners' State concert.
This is the first time the gala is being held in the lake-side town.
Invited guests will get an opportunity to walk through the gates of the residence that had been shunned by Mr Mwai Kibaki when he was President.
The only time a sitting President visited the facility was in 2003, when President Kibaki and Cord leader Raila Odinga were in the region to commission development projects.

This is the third visit President Kenyatta is making to Kisumu since he took office.
The first tour was when he opened a devolution conference and the second was during the silver Jubilee celebrations of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kisumu.
On Thursday, Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma asked residents to welcome the President when he tours the county.
The governor said he would discuss with President Kenyatta the progress of efforts to revive ports on the Kenyan side of Lake Victoria.
"We are keen on establishing a direct link with our trading partners through Lake Victoria. These are some of the issues we will bring to his attention should we get time for a conversation," said Mr Ranguma.
