Today I witnessed the swearing in of the Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces Gen. Samson J Mwathethe, the Vice Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces Lt-Gen. Joseph Kasaon and the Kenya Army Maj. Gen. Leonard Ngondi during the swearing in ceremony at State House, Nairobi. My Government will scale up budgetary allocation to the country’s security dockets to enable them tackle security challenges effectively. Even as Government increases resources, security forces are expected to develop a clear and coherent strategy to confront terror and other security threats in the country. I asked the military, para-military, regular and administration police forces to pool resources to protect the country from both external and internal enemies. I directed the security forces to use all resources at their disposal in defense of the country and the people of Kenya. I am confident that with the will, determination and support of friendly nations, Kenya will overcome the security threats posed by terrorists.
