PREVENTIVE MEASURES TOP PRIORITY IN TANZANIA
The President of Tanzania Dr. John Pombe Magufuli has asked Tanzanians to take precautions as suggested by medical professionals instead of panicking on dealing with the new wave of global pandemic that is highly affecting other countries.
Tanzania is among few countries in the World which did not impose lockdowns as it battled against Corona Virus pandemic in 2020. The success story of Tanzania in the first wave was due to unique path that was undertaken. In the same way, yesterday President Magufuli argued Citizens to observe preventive and protective guidelines on the virus.
President Magufuli warned the Health Ministry against rushing to acquiring vaccines for Covid-19 without verifying their effectiveness. " Not every vaccine is beneficial to our Nation, the ministry should be extra careful on this issue to avoid leading the country into trouble...". Dr. Magufuli.
Tanzania which is largest and most populous country in East Africa conducted the general election last year in October where Dr. John Pombe Magufuli won by over 80%. The President is Doctor of philosophy in Chemistry, In late 2019, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Dodoma for improving the economy of his country.
