There are reports of a proposed law whose purpose will be to ensure that architects and engineers conduct their businesses in line with specified standards or guidelines.
If this is true, I am afraid it will be the beginning of the end of architecture as a creative profession in TZ.
Some of the questions the proponents of such legislation must ask themselves are:
Who will set the said standards and guidelines? Is it the TZ Parliament or the ERB, the AQRB?
What will be the basis of such legislation considering the fact that buildings are designed according to various needs and factors?
Are these guys proposing a single solution for everything, everywhere and for everyone? What's this, if its not a heep of BS?
