you just cant ban matatus.the financial and economic ramifications are too high.light rail rail haiwezi ingia places zenye matatu huingia ama brt just say they be introduced to compliment each other.its something that has been ingrained in us that we cannot do without just like the west who use trams subways so is mats in kenya

Nivlark i have personally seen the new design. Just to clear the air, alot of African countries don't seem to understand the transportation planning and general traffic related issues.
Did you consider for instance, that matatus and matatu culture are incubators of crime and criminal sub culture?
Did you consider the fact that there is a very distinct possibility that Nairobi can and should be reorganized so that it looks and feels like a modern city and not a super sized village as it is and most African cities are. This means that we should stop seeing development as a preserve of other cultures, we can infact teach them. The truth of the matter is that alot of African cities have under developed transport systems, pandering to the status quo doesn't help.
If it were up to me as a governor or maybe even bigger position kama prezzo hivi i would engineer a massive reorganization of not just Nairobi but all kenyan towns and cities. With all the accumulated knowledge we have, its possible. Yes, we can.
