Two Kenyan nationals are currently being detained by authorities in Mumbai, India, after they were found in possession of substances believed to be narcotic in nature.
42-year-old Mwanje Faridah and Cilian Awar Nyanzangu were arrested at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Sunday.
According to India's Air Intelligence Unit (AIU), Faridah was found in possession of 980 grams of a white-coloured substance believed to be cocaine.
Nyanzangu, on the other hand, was found holding 5.16 kg of a white powder suspected to be heroin, according to AIU officials.
Nyanzangu is said to have arrived in Mumbai from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Both suspects were arrested separately.
They are set to be arraigned in court where they will be charged with drug trafficking, an offence that can attract a sentence of up to 20 years behind bars in India.
