On this issue I think its just a personal preference for me. not be entirely based on point by point analysis... Its just about what I value the most as a priority for myself and Kenyans... I like big development projects, God knows, I really do...I like a man with vision, who inspires hope, who can articulate issues...and for this Uhuru has all that... But what I hold dearest or rather what I hate the most is IMPUNITY, I really hate seeing impunity go unpunished, that is the one thing that makes me really depressed when I see residents uncover a shallow grave of people who had previously been arrested by police, or a policeman issue a warning on gangsters on FB then next thing they are dead, or a crowd mob justices a chicken thief and burn him to death, or health ministry looses billons meant for the really vulnerable and no one goes to jail.... it really hurts me when I see such kind of impunity...
If this was 2030 when we already developed then Uhuru would be my guy, but at this point in time, I think if we really want to be developed in the future, we need to take a pause and go back to taking care of the basics first, food security, police reform and basic human rights, simple stuff like building proper classrooms , observing the law/constitution and following it strictly, solving water problems and sanitation...you know, the really basic stuff that makes a society function properly ... Then after we solve the most basic problems is when we can do the advanced stuff...
If we were in a perfect world I would have vote for someone else completely new and not part of the old school, but as we all know its a two horse race, and between the two Raila is best placed to concentrate on those basic stuff (in my own view) than Uhuru...and as for now (expect for improving access to electricity) uhuru has not solved any of the basic stuff, which for me means no matter how many strides we make as a country we will never really go anywhere as a society
