- Barely hours after Prime Minister Raila Odinga claimed there is a rigging racket by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials, commission officials have told him to substantiate the rigging claims.
In a letter to CORD, IEBC chairman Isaack Hassan termed the allegations by CORD officials led by the PM as baseless.
Mr Hassan asked Raila to verify claims that the Head of Civil Service Francis Kimemia was part of a plot to rig the March 4[SUP]th[/SUP] elections.
Despite the commission writing to you asking you to respond on the issues raised in your letter dated February 19, to justify and verify the allegations, you have refused and neglected with a rebuttal over the issue, Hassan said.
Hassan added that the commission, Mr Kimemia and other government officials reserve the right to take legal action against CORD and the PM for adversely linking them to rigging claims.
